SRT- Sensitivity Reduction Allergy Elimination

Improve Allergy Symptoms With Sensitivity Reduction Technique (SRT)
SRT is an allergy reduction technique developed by Dr. Sherri Tenpenny, DO who combines the techniques of Dr. Devi Nambudripad, MD, Dr. Ellen Cutler, DC, MD, and Dr. Carolyn Jaffe, DOM, ND, PhD and added her own unique “special sauce” to create one of the best known and most successful allergy elimination clinics in U.S., located in Cleveland, OH. Dr. Zimmerman was privileged to train with Dr. Tenpenny in the spring of 2015 after receiving the treatment herself.

How Can SRT Improve Allergy Symptoms?
One of the most important functions of SRT is to strengthen the immune system. It does this by using
acupressure/acupuncture, a procedure proven to regulate the human body. All SRT patients first complete three treatments which:

  • 1) rebalance blood/organs
  • 2) rebalance phenolics/plastics
  • 3) address the food particles – fats, proteins, carbohydrates, and sugars.

The first three treatments are referred to as the Foundation Treatments because they are important to complete before addressing specific allergens. When Foundation Treatments are completed first, fewer total treatments are required (12-15 instead of hundreds). In addition, after the first three treatments it is possible to neutralize several allergens at one time during a single office visit.

What Does the Treatment Involve?
While you are in contact with the allergen, a series of acupuncture points along the spinal column are activated through pressure to open the energy channels connected to the central nervous system. A series of specific acupuncture points on the arms and legs are stimulated to open all the meridians flowing through the body. You will be asked to rest quietly on the treatment table while holding the allergen for 15 minutes as part of the treatment. After your treatment, you will be asked to maintain a strict avoidance of that allergen for 3 hours. In addition, you will be told to avoid all food and beverage for 3 hours after the treatment. Water is generally allowed. Be sure to eat prior to each appointment. Each session lasts about 30 min.

The actual treatment is painless and seems simple. However, it is EXTREMELY powerful and effective. There will be changes that affect your entire body’s physiology. Side effects include body aches, headaches, sweating, and nausea. Even though these reactions are uncommon, if they persist more than 48 hours, be sure to call the office for instructions.

How Long Is Each Session?

Each session lasts approximately 30 minutes total.

How Frequently Should Each Session Be Scheduled?

Ideal spacing would be 1-2 weeks between each session however there is no right or wrong answer for timing. We can do treatments as fast or slow as a patient desires. It is possible to do more than one session in one day but each session should be spaced four hours apart to allow for food consumption between each session.

Is this available to infants and children?

Yes, SRT is safe for everyone including babies, children, and adults.

How Long Will These Treatments Last?
Dr. Tenpenny has reported that 86% of patients who complete the full program of 12-15
treatments are entirely relieved of all allergy related symptoms and that 92% of respondents
found significant to moderate health improvements. This is why Dr. Zimmerman has designed a full package program that includes longer visits for the first and last, with 10 shorter treatments in between.

Can SRT Help Me?
While no treatment works 100% of the time for 100% of patients, SRT has been very successful
in people with seasonal allergies, food allergies, hives, asthma, eczema, psoriasis, joint pain,
muscle aches, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, headaches, and other symptoms caused by a
weakened immune system.
