Our current soils aren’t cutting it. Depleted of ever-important nutrients like magnesium and selenium, often a whole foods diet is still in need of some support. Then there’s what our current medication does in regard nutrient depletion. While no one should rely on vitamin and mineral support solely from capsules or tablets, it is an evidence-based way of providing an insurance policy for solid, daily nutrition.
Equally as important is the form you take. Stop cheating yourself with dl-alpha tocopherol and find a product with mixed tocopherols for vitamin E. Realize that calcium carbonate and magnesium oxide are cheap ingredients and often don’t get the job done. And don’t forget to look the “other” ingredients. A vitamin with polyethylene glycol and FD&C dyes was designed for mass production and high sales, not your health.
