Taco Salad

Super quick, flavorful, and will please the whole family.  Feel free to add any other veggies to your salad. I’ve included a recipe to make your own taco seasoning.  Next time you’re at the store, just take a minute to read the ingredients in some of those store-bought seasoning packets—partially hydrogenated soybean oil, MSG—No thank you!

Prep Time:

Ingredients:

  • 1 lbs grass-fed ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon(s) chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon(s) garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon(s) onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon(s) crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) paprika
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon(s) ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon(s) sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon(s) black pepper
  • water
  • leaf lettuce
  • 1 large tomato (diced)
  • 1 red onion (chopped)
  • 1 bell pepper (diced)
  • 1 avocado (sliced)
  • fresh cilantro (chopped)
  • salsa

Instructions:

Brown the ground beef in a large skillet.  While the beef is browning, mix the taco seasoning spices in a small bowl.  Once the beef is browned, add the seasoning along with ½ cup water to the skillet.  Stir and simmer on low until the water is absorbed.

Plate your lettuce and top with the veggies listed or veggies of your choice.  Scatter the ground beef mixture on top of your salad and top with salsa.  20 minutes and dinner is done!  (You can’t even drive through fast food and get it back home and on the table in 20 minutes!)
