Fresh Tomatoes with Basil

Freshly picked homegrown tomatoes are practically a dessert.  If you have access to organic garden tomatoes, take advantage of their flavor benefits.  You won't find anything comparable in the grocery store, from both a flavor and nutrition standpoint.  This super simple recipe is great with a chopped red onion too if you have it on hand.

  • 1 lbs cherry or grape tomatoes
  • handful of fresh basil
  • extra-virgin olive oil
  • balsamic vinegar
  • sea salt


Slice the cherry tomatoes in half and put in a bowl.

Finely chop the fresh basil and add to bowl.

Drizzle with balsamic vinegar and olive oil.

Add sea salt to taste.
